| In honor of Titanic's special tribute to romance, "Sweetheart Month", The Titanic Museum Attraction in Branson, Mo. is presenting Mr. and Mrs. Witte with a Free Vow Renewal on the Grand Staircase, 2 nights stay at the Chateau on the Lake, and 2 tickets to Presley's Country Jubilee. The Vow Renewal ceremony will be held in elegant style on Titanic's Grand Staircase and will be presided over by the ship's captain.
Here is their special wedding story:
Tammy and I met in a Titanic-themed chatroom online during the release of James Cameron's "Titanic" back in 1997-98. I thought she was there just because of the movie, so I quizzed her to see if she knew the true historical side of the story. I asked her the name of the rescue ship and her captain. She answered Carpathia and Captain Rostron. After spending countless hours chatting online and talking over the phone, we met for the first time ever in Oct of '98, and after that, everything just took off! A year after that, I proposed to her and she accepted. In keeping with our Titanic connection, we decided to get married outside on April 10, 2000. For those familiar with the story of Titanic, that was Sailing Day for her maiden voyage. Tammy wore for her wedding dress a specially made dress exactly like the one Rose wore during the famed 'flying' scene! I went for a tux of course. It wasn't a very big wedding, our closest f amily and friends were there. Then our Titanic-themed reception was held on the 15th, the day Titanic sank(morbid maybe but keeping with the theme). So if it weren't for Titanic, Hollywood or not, we wouldn't be together today! :-D
